Mantra Activity
Self consciousness and social anxiety often restrain athletes from being authentic. Often, people are hesitant to say positive things about themselves out of fear of coming across as arrogant or self-centered. This leads to a fairly negative outcome as they may only share concerns and struggles with others, while keeping points of pride and accomplishments to themselves.
Let’s explore ways to break this cycle so the team can have positive interactions, discuss success in a way that feels good for everyone, and raises your players confidence in themselves.
In mental performance, a “Mantra” is a statement of fact that an athlete reminds themselves in order to ensure positive self talk and belief in their abilities.
